Neé
Manteau
(Literally translated from the
French, Neé Manteau means
born a coat.)
These
four bears all started out in life
as the same vicuna coat. The
first was Mrs. Glane, the imaginary
playmate of a little girl. All
the others were created from the
left-overs of the Mrs. Glane,
project. |

|
All
four of these bears were made from
the same vicuna coat. Mrs.
Glane and Mrs. Manville's stoles
were made from a mink collar, but
not the collar from the vicuna coat.
All the sparklies on Mrs.
Glane came from the jewelry box of
the woman who owned the vicuna coat.
The garnets on Madison were
purchased specially for this
project. Belle and Mrs.
Manville got their jewels from
broken pieces in my jewelry box.
The beads and lace appliquéd on
Belle and Madison were harvested
from a Victorian Blouse. |

Curly
This
bear is made from a loopy wool coat
I found in a thrift shop. His
paw pads, inner ears and snout are
all made from brown suede.
Unlike his more stylish relatives
above, this bear has a green chiffon
ribbon as his sole adornment. |
