Each of these pouches
was designed and hand-knitted by me. Most of them are
one-of-a-kind pieces and sold already. I have included
pictures of them so that you can get an idea of the range of
possibilities with these elegant creations if you wish to let me
make one just for you. |

This interesting pouch was a
make-it-up-as-you-go-along project. I was looking for a
way to use the outrageous orange thread and beads. The
order was placed from a color chart. The chart made the
colors look muted and subtle. The reality was anything
but. It was about 6 weeks before Halloween so I decided
that a pumpkin was the perfect choice. I have
just finished a blossom pouch for spring in a bead mix of mauves
and pinks on an ashes of roses colored #8 Finca perle cotton.
Let me know what you think. |

#8 Finca
perle cotton with size 8 Czech seed beads. The strap on
both of these pouches is
"I" cord with crocheted leaves embellished with size 8 Czech
seed beads. |

This handsome bag is
still available. It was knitted with emerald green Finca
perle cotton in a flurry of cables accented with hand painted,
variegated beads harvested from a antique Victorian lamp.
The neck strap sports real emeralds, rubies, amethysts,
freshwater pearls and lapis beads. The fringed fold-over
flap sports a Victorian bodice clip that is hand signed by the
artist who cast the piece and hand-set each stone. |
|
These cell phone
pouches are both reversible with beaded fringe. The purple one
is knitted from two different colors of Finca perle cotton and
has different colored beads on each side. The red one has
gold beads and a flea market bauble on one side and a mixture of
red and gold beads with no bauble on the other side.
The
pink one has pink cubes, antique seed beads and Czech pearl
finished beads woven into this entre'lac design. On the
front side, it is hot pink and deep wine colored. On the
back side it is hot pink and light pink. The handle is
crochets spiral cording with antique seed beads in a faceted
mauve bead. This pouch is 6.5 inches wide and 4 inches
deep. The strap is in two colors, the deep wine and the
hot pink.
The taupe colored
pouch is knitted from super fine perle cotton for a more supple
and finer feel to the fabric. The beads are a creamy pearl
color with a drawstring closure, fringed bottom and a bead
crocheted cable for a neck strap. |

Black Finca perle
cotton knitted with gold confetti beads and a vintage pin on the
fold-over flap made this pouch disappear in a flash. |
|
Knitted from super
fine flower thread and embellished with antique silver bugle
beads, sterling silver balls and amethyst colored beads, the
lavender pouch on the left sports a fold-over flap with a
vintage pin as an accent. |

The first of my
pouches were designed to carry my tiny teddies. The next
four pouches were all made to be worn around the neck and
provide ample room for their stuffed passengers. |
 |
The cranberry pouch,
left, is a fantasy of black lined red beads looped and fringed
all over this pouch. Not to be outdone, the matching
Thread Bear insisted on being beaded.
The reversible mauve
and raspberry pouch, right, was a special order for Mary Daub,
the artist who created this whimsical "pouch mouse". |

 |
The champagne colored
combo, upper left, was knitted from vintage English mohair
embellished with antique beads, crystals and topped off with a
vintage pin. The Thread Bear companion was crocheted from
the same mohair.
The black and rust
pouch, lower left, is also reversible. It was created for
an Admiral's wife who needed that something special to jazz up
her basic black cocktail dress. She bought the bear and
had me make the pouch to match. |
|
This brilliant blue
bag was designed around the hand hammered silver and lapis link
I cannibalized from a broken antique bracelet that came from
Afghanistan. |
 |
 |
This is a group of
tiny pouches knitted with Thread Bear toppers. They are
all designed to be worn around the neck more as jewelry than as
purses.
|
|
The celery colored
pouch on the left was knitted as a demo for a class I taught in
bead knitting. It didn't last out the class before it
found a home. |

Knitted from ultra
fine, #16 Finca perle cotton and tiny antique beads this 3" by
6" drawstring pouch is a stunner.
This fuchsia pouch
was knitted in an entre'lac (basket weave) pattern in the round
with hematite beads and fresh water pearls. |

Large enough to be
worn over the shoulder, all these pouches feature elaborate
cables and heavily fringed, fold-over flaps. |
